Why must the entire world believe in Muhammed bin Abdullah ( sav ) as final and universal Prophet , Messenger , Rasool & Nabi  of Allah / God  ?

with Compliment from : Br , Said Kayum – Jazk Allah

Bismillah ar-Rahman Ar-Raheem

All praise is due to Allah, and may the Peace and Blessing of Allah be upon Muhammad, and may my father and mother be sacrificed for him.

Proof from the Qur’aan that to be a believer or to have Faith that counts with Allah, it is obligatory to believe in Prophet Muhammed (sallallahu alaihi wasallam); and that even the Jews and Christians who do not believe in him are Kuffaar (disbelievers)

Proof 1: It is incumbent to believe in all Messengers, including Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu aaihe wasallam)

“Verily, those who disbelieve in Allah and His Messengers and wish to make distinction between Allah and His Messengers saying, ‘We believe in some but reject others,’ and wish to adopt a way in between. They are in truth disbelievers. And We have prepared for the disbelievers a humiliating torment.” [Soorah an-Nisa (4): 150-151]

The Jews do not believe in Prophet Eesa (alaihis-salaam) and Muhammed (sallallahu alaihe wasallam), and the Christians do not believe in Prophet Muhammed (sallallahu alaihe wasallam). Thus they are both disbelievers in light of the above mentioned verse.

Proof 2: Only those who believe in the Prophet who can neither read nor write will be successful

“Those who follow the Messenger, the Prophet who can neither read nor write (i.e. Muhammad) whom they find written with them in the Tawraat (Torah) (Deut, xviii 15) and the Injeel (Gospel) (John, xiv 16), — he commands them for Al-Ma‘roof (i.e. Islâmic Monotheism and all that Islam has ordained); and forbids them from Al-Munkar (i.e. disbelief, polytheism of all kinds, and all that Islam has forbidden); he allows them as lawful At‑Tayyibaat (i.e. all good and lawful), and prohibits them as unlawful Al‑Khabaa’ith (i.e. all evil and unlawful), he releases them from their heavy burdens (of Allaah’s Covenant with the children of Israel), and from the fetters (bindings) that were upon them. So those who believe in him (Muhammad), honour him, help him, and follow the light (the Qur’aan) which has been sent down with him, it is they who will be successful.” [al-A’raaf 7:157]

“Whosoever disobeys Allâh and His Messenger (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم), and transgresses His limits, He will cast him into the Fire, to abide therein; and he shall have a disgraceful torment.” [Surah Al-Nisa’, 4: 14]

Proof 3: Even the previous Messengers have a covenant with Allah to believe in Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alaihe wasallam)

“And (remember) when Allaah took the Covenant of the Prophets, saying: ‘Take whatever I gave you from the Book and Hikmah (understanding of the Laws of Allaah), and afterwards there will come to you a Messenger (Muhammad) confirming what is with you; you must, then, believe in him and help him.’ Allaah said: ‘Do you agree (to it) and will you take up My Covenant (which I conclude with you)?’ They said: ‘We agree.’ He said: ‘Then bear witness; and I am with you among the witnesses (for this).’” [Soorah Aal-Imraan (3):81]

Proof 4: The Disbelief of the Christians

“Surely, they have disbelieved who say: ‘Allah is the Messiah [‘Eesa (Jesus)], son of Maryam (Mary).’ [al-Maa’idah 5:72]

“Surely, disbelievers are those who said: “Allaah is the third of the three (in a Trinity).” But there is no Ilaah (god) (none who has the right to be worshipped) but One Ilaah (God —Allâh). And if they cease not from what they say, verily, a painful torment will befall on the disbelievers among them” [al-Maa’idah 5:73]

Do the Christians believe in trinity and the divinity of Jesus (alaihis-salaam)?

Proof 5: The Disbelief of the Jews

“The Jews say: ‘Uzair (Ezra) is the son of Allah, and the Christians say: Messiah is the son of Allah. That is a saying from their mouths. They imitate the saying of the disbelievers of old. Allah’s Curse be on them, how they are deluded away from the truth!” [Soorah at-Tawbah 30]

“Verily, those who disbelieve from among the people of the scripture (Jews and Christians) and Al-Mushrikoon, will abide in the fire of Hell. They are the worst of creatures”. (Suratul Bayyinah: 6)

“And their hearts absorbed (the worship of) the calf because of their disbelief” [al-Baqarah 2:93]

“Among those who are Jews, there are some who displace words from (their) right places and say: “We hear your word (O Muhammad) and disobey,” and “Hear and let you (O Muhammad) hear nothing.” And Raa‘ina [in Arabic it means “Be careful, listen to us, and we listen to you”, whereas in Hebrew, it means “an insult”] with a twist of their tongues and as a mockery of the religion (Islâm). And if only they had said: “We hear and obey”, and “Do make us understand,” it would have been better for them, and more proper; but Allaah has cursed them for their disbelief…” [al-Nisa’ 4:46]

“Because of their breaking the covenant, and of their rejecting the Ayaat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of Allaah, and of their killing the Prophets unjustly, and of their saying: “Our hearts are wrapped (with coverings, i.e. we do not understand what the Messengers say)” — nay, Allaah has set a seal upon their hearts because of their disbelief, so they believe not but a little. And because of their (Jews) disbelief and uttering against Maryam (Mary) a grave false charge (that she has committed illegal sexual intercourse);  And because of their saying (in boast), “We killed Messiah ‘Eesaa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary), the Messenger of Allaah,” — but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but it appeared so to them the resemblance of ‘Eesaa (Jesus) was put over another man (and they killed that man)]…” [al-Nisa’ 4:155-157]

Proof 6: Those who turn away from following Prophet Muhammed are disbelievers

Say (O Muhammad to mankind): “If you (really) love Allah then follow me (i.e. accept Islamic Monotheism, follow the Qur’an and the Sunnah), Allah will love you and forgive you of your sins. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.”

Say (O Muhammad ): “Obey Allah and the Messenger (Muhammad ).” But if they turn away, then Allah does not like the disbelievers. [Surah Al-‘Imran (3):31-32]

Proof 7: Faith denied for the one who does not make Prophet Muhammad as a judge in all disputes

“But no, by your Lord, they can have no Faith, until they make you (O Muhammad) judge in all disputes between them, and find in themselves no resistance against your decisions, and accept (them) with full submission.”[Soorah an-Nisa (4): 65]

Proof 8: Prophet Muhammad has been sent to the people of the scripture as a guide to bring them out of darkness to the light (i.e. what they were upon, despite having a Book, is referred to as darkness)

“O people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians)! Now has come to you Our Messenger (Muhammad *) explaining to you much of that which you used to hide from the Scripture and passing over (i.e. leaving out without explaining) much. Indeed, there has come to you from Allah a light (Prophet Muhammad) and a plain Book (this Qur’an). Wherewith Allah guides all those who seek His Good Pleasure to ways of peace, and He brings them out of darkness by His Will unto light and guides them to a Straight Way (Islamic Monotheism).” [Surah Al-Ma’idah: 15-16]

“O people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians)! Now has come to you Our Messenger (Muhammad) making (things) clear unto you, after a break in (the series of) Messengers, lest you say: “There came unto us no bringer of glad tidings and no warner.” But now has come unto you a bringer of glad tidings and a warner. And Allah is Able to do all things.” [Surah Al-Ma’idah: 19]

Proof 9: The believers are one entity, the Jews and Christians are another

“O you who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians as Auliya’ (friends, protectors, helpers, etc.), they are but Auliya’ to one another. And if any amongst you takes them as Auliya’, then surely he is one of them. Verily, Allah guides not those people who are the Zalimun (polytheists and wrongdoers and unjust).” [5:51]

Comment: The believers are different from the Jews and Christians, if they are both the same, then this verse will not make any sense.

Proof 10: Right guidance is only by the message of Prophet Muhammad

Say: “Obey Allâh and obey the Messenger, but if you turn away, he (Messenger Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) is only responsible for the duty placed on him (i.e. to convey Allâh’s Message) and you for that placed on you. If you obey him, you shall be on the right guidance. The Messenger’s duty is only to convey (the message) in a clear way (i.e. to preach in a plain way).” [Nur, 24: 54]

Proof 11: Those who do not believe in the Qur’aan, the Fire will be their destination

“Can they (Muslims) who rely on a clear proof (the Qur’an) from their Lord, and whom a witness [Prophet Muhammad through Jibrael (Gabriel)] from Him follows it (can they be equal with the disbelievers); and before it, came the Book of Musa (Moses), a guidance and a mercy, they believe therein, but those of the sects that reject it (the Qur’an), the Fire will be their promised meeting-place. So be not in doubt about it. Verily, it is the truth from your Lord, but most of the mankind believe not.” [Soorah Hud (11): 17]

Proof 12: The letters and delegations sent to the Jews and Christian to accept Islam

It was related by Al-Bukhari and Muslim in their Sahih (authentic) Books of Hadith that Heracles read a letter sent to him by the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) in which he said, “In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. From Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah, to Heracles, the Roman Emperor. Peace be upon those who follow guidance. I invite you to embrace Islam and you will be safe. If you do, you will be rewarded twice by Allah. If you refuse to embrace Islam, you will bear the sin of your subjects.

“Say (O Muhammad): “O people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians): Come to a word that is just between us and you, that we worship none but Allâh (Alone), and that we associate no partners with Him, and that none of us shall take others as lords besides Allâh. Then, if they turn away, say: “Bear witness that we are Muslims.” [Surah Al-`Imran, 3: 64]

Proof 13: Soorah al-Baqarah (2): 87-92

“Indeed, We gave Musa (Moses) the Book and followed him up with a succession of Messengers. And We gave ‘Iesa (Jesus), the son of Maryam (Mary), clear signs and supported him with Ruh-ul-Qudus [Jibrael (Gabriel)]. Is it that whenever there came to you a Messenger with what you yourselves desired not, you grew arrogant? Some, you disbelieved and some, you killed.

And they say, “Our hearts are wrapped (i.e. do not hear or understand Allah’s Word).” Nay, Allah has cursed them for their disbelief, so little is that which they believe.

And when there came to them (the Jews), a Book (this Qur’an) from Allah confirming what is with them [the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)], although aforetime they had invoked Allah (for coming of Muhammad Peace be upon him) in order to gain victory over those who disbelieved, then when there came to them that which they had recognised, they disbelieved in it. So let the Curse of Allah be on the disbelievers.

How bad is that for which they have sold their ownselves, that they should disbelieve in that which Allah has revealed (the Qur’an), grudging that Allah should reveal of His Grace unto whom He will of His slaves. So they have drawn on themselves wrath upon wrath. And for the disbelievers, there is disgracing torment.

And when it is said to them (the Jews), “Believe in what Allah has sent down,” they say, “We believe in what was sent down to us.” And they disbelieve in that which came after it, while it is the truth confirming what is with them. Say (O Muhammad Peace be upon him to them): “Why then have you killed the Prophets of Allah aforetime, if you indeed have been believers?”

And indeed Musa (Moses) came to you with clear proofs, yet you worshipped the calf after he left, and you were Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers).

(150. Verily, those who disbelieve in Allah and His Messengers and wish to make distinction between Allah and His Messengers saying, “We believe in some but reject others,” and wish to adopt a way in between.)
(151. They are in truth disbelievers. And We have prepared for the disbelievers a humiliating torment.)
(152. And those who believe in Allah and His Messengers and make no distinction between any of them (Messengers), We shall give them their rewards; and Allah is Ever Forgiving, Most Merciful.)
From Tafseer Ibn Katheer
Believing in Some Prophets and Rejecting Others is Pure Kufr
Allah threatens those who disbelieve in Him and in His Messengers, such as the Jews and Christians, who differentiate between Allah and His Messengers regarding faith. They believe in some Prophets and reject others, following their desires, lusts and the practices of their forefathers. They do not follow any proof for such distinction, because there is no such proof. Rather, they follow their lusts and prejudices. The Jews, may Allah curse them, believe in the Prophets, except `Isa and Muhammad, peace be upon them. The Christians believe in the Prophets but reject their Final and Seal, and the most honored among the prophets, Muhammad, peace be upon him. In addition, the Samirah (Samaritans) do not believe in any Prophet after Yuwsha` (Joshua), the successor of Musa bin `Imran. The Majus (Zoroastrians) are said to believe only in a Prophet called Zoroaster, although they do not believe in the law he brought them casting it behind them, and Allah knows best. Therefore, whoever rejects only one of Allah’s Prophets, he will have disbelieved in all of them, because it is required from mankind to believe in every prophet whom Allah sent to the people of the earth. And whoever rejects one Prophet, out of envy, bias and personal whim, he only demonstrates that his faith in other Prophets is not valid, but an act of following desire and whim. This is why Allah said,
[إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَكْفُرُونَ بِاللَّهِ وَرُسُلِهِ]
(Verily, those who disbelieve in Allah and His Messengers…) Thus, Allah describes these people as disbelievers in Allah and His Messengers;
[وَيُرِيدُونَ أَن يُفَرِّقُواْ بَيْنَ اللَّهِ وَرُسُلِهِ]
(and wish to make distinction between Allah and His Messengers) in faith,
(saying, “We believe in some but reject others,” and wish to adopt a way in between.) Allah then describes them;
[أُوْلَـئِكَ هُمُ الْكَـفِرُونَ حَقّاً]
(They are in truth disbelievers.) meaning, their disbelief in the Prophet they claim to believe in is clear. This is because their claimed faith in a certain Messenger is not true, for had they truly believed in him, they would have believed in other Messengers, especially if the other Messenger has a stronger proof for his truthfulness. Or at least, they would have strived hard to acquire knowledge of the truth of the other Messenger. Allah said,
[وَأَعْتَدْنَا لِلْكَـفِرِينَ عَذَاباً مُّهِيناً]
(And We have prepared for the disbelievers a humiliating torment.) This is just punishment for belittling the Prophets whom they disbelieved in, by ignoring what the Prophet brought to them from Allah, and because they are interested in the insignificant possessions of this world. Or, their behavior could be the result of their disbelief in the Prophet after they were aware of his truth, just as the Jewish rabbis did during the time of Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah . The Jews envied the Messenger because of the great prophethood that Allah gave him, and as a consequence, they denied the Messenger, defied him, became his enemies and fought against him. Allah sent humiliation upon them in this life, that shall be followed by disgrace in the Hereafter,
[وَضُرِبَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ الذِّلَّةُ وَالْمَسْكَنَةُ وَبَآءُوا بِغَضَبٍ مِّنَ اللَّهِ]
(And they were covered with humiliation and misery, and they drew on themselves the wrath of Allah.) in this life and the Hereafter. Allah’s statement,
[وَالَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ بِاللَّهِ وَرُسُلِهِ وَلَمْ يُفَرِّقُواْ بَيْنَ أَحَدٍ مِّنْهُمْ]
(And those who believe in Allah and His Messengers and make no distinction between any of them,) This refers to the Ummah of Muhammad who believe in every Book that Allah has revealed and in every Prophet whom Allah has sent. Allah said,
[ءَامَنَ الرَّسُولُ بِمَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْهِ مِن رَّبِّهِ وَالْمُؤْمِنُونَ كُلٌّ ءَامَنَ بِاللَّهِ]
(The Messenger believes in what has been revealed to him from his Lord, and (so do) the believers. All of them believe in Allah.) (2:285). Allah then states that He has prepared great rewards for them, tremendous favor and a handsome bounty,
[أُوْلَـئِكَ سَوْفَ يُؤْتِيهِمْ أُجُورَهُمْ]
(We shall give them their rewards;) because of their faith in Allah and His Messengers,
[وَكَانَ اللَّهُ غَفُوراً رَّحِيماً]
(and Allah is Ever Forgiving, Most Merciful.) for their sin, if they have any.
